Why TPC

A Grand Rapids Contractor Worth Working For

TPC is locally owned, fast growing, and built on quality craftsmanship and an ownership mindset. We set above-average standards for communication — which is exactly why the crews, designers, and project managers here actually like coming to work.

01

Communication First

Our #1 core value. You’ll always know the plan, the schedule, and who to call — no guessing, no radio silence from the office.

02

Work You’re Proud Of

High-end remodels and additions in occupied homes. New jobs, new scenery, real challenges — and a finished product you’d put your name on.

03

Room To Grow

We’re growing, and we promote from inside. Prove yourself and you move into bigger projects, higher-value jobs, and advanced roles.

04

Treated Like A Human

Normal hours, weekends off, and genuine flexibility around life’s events. A family atmosphere, not a slogan on a wall.

Pay & Benefits

What You Get For Doing It Right

Every role at TPC is a W2 position with predictable, bi-weekly direct deposit — no 1099 games, no guessing when payday lands.

Current ranges: $24–$40/hr for experienced carpenters, $28–$35/hr for interior designers — based on experience, with room to grow on proven results.

Accumulation-Based PTO

Effective January 1, 2027: you accumulate paid time off as you work, and any unused hours are paid out to you at the end of the year — nothing expires. Optional unpaid time off is available too.

Weekends & Holidays Off

All major holidays and every weekend, always. Normal working hours and a real focus on work-life balance.

Professional Development

Development assistance and clear advancement paths — we’d rather grow a lead than hire one.

Equipped To Succeed

Real systems, modern job-tracking technology, and the design tools to do the job right the first time.

Local Work Only

Jobsites throughout Greater Grand Rapids, generally within about 30 minutes. Home every night.

Backing From Leadership

Project managers, vendors, and architects who are set up to help you succeed — not to hand you problems.

Full-Time $24–$40 / hour Greater Grand Rapids

Experienced Carpenter

Take a remodel from demolition all the way through finish — framing, drywall, trim, and finish carpentry — on high-end homes across West Michigan, alongside a tight crew and PMs who back you up.

Apply

What You’ll Do

  • Run remodels from demo through framing, drywall, trim, and finish — owning the quality at every stage
  • Measure, cut, and install to a high finish standard: plumb, level, square, and clean
  • Keep jobsites protected, organized, and safe — especially in occupied, high-end homes
  • Communicate clearly with your lead, project managers, and homeowners
  • Help train and mentor junior carpenters, sharing your techniques and standards
  • Maintain your tools and equipment in good working order

Nice To Have

  • High-end residential remodeling background specifically
  • Experience mentoring or leading other carpenters

Requirements

  • Proven carpenter able to run work from demo to finish
  • Framing: measure and frame walls, doors, and windows accurately, plumb and square, efficiently
  • Drywall & paint: hang, finish, and patch drywall; prime and paint to a clean, defect-free finish
  • Trim & finish: moldings, baseboards, cabinets, doors, and hardware with precision and clean caulk lines
  • Flooring: LVP, tongue-and-groove, and similar (carpet and tile not required)
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and building codes
  • Sharp attention to detail, strong problem-solving, friendly can-do attitude
  • Able to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
  • Driver’s license, reliable transportation to jobsites, and ability to tow a trailer
  • Comfortable reading plans and working from architectural drawings

How This Role Starts

This position begins as a 60-day temporary role — a window for both of us to confirm the fit. Carpenters who prove themselves move into a regular position with the full benefits above.

Full-Time or Part-Time $28–$35 / hour HQ + Showroom, Wyoming MI

Residential Interior Designer

Guide homeowners through the full design journey on remodels and additions — scope to floor plans to selections to final order. Projects are assigned to you: this is not a sales role.

Apply

What You’ll Do

  • Meet homeowners in their homes and in our showroom to align on goals, aesthetics, and budget
  • Design full-scale remodels for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, decks, and more
  • Create layouts, 2D floor plans, and minor 3D renderings in Chief Architect or Revit, plus 2020 or ProKitchen
  • Guide clients through product selections and “shopping days,” then finalize every order accurately
  • Own each project from design through ordering, then hand it off cleanly to the Project Manager
  • Coordinate with vendors, architects, and internal PMs for job accuracy and total client satisfaction

Not A Sales Role

You won’t generate leads or chase deals. Projects are assigned to you, and you take a preliminary scope of work all the way through the final order — with the chance to step into larger, higher-value projects.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in residential remodeling or interior design
  • Experienced and efficient in Chief Architect or Revit — able to produce layouts, 2D floor plans, and minor 3D renderings
  • Experienced and efficient in ProKitchen or 2020 — able to design cabinetry layouts
  • Solid grasp of construction processes, terminology, and project phases
  • Exceptional listening and presentation skills — communication is TPC’s #1 core value
  • Able to self-direct across multiple projects, clients, and deadlines at once
  • Honesty, integrity, and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Able to commute daily to Wyoming, MI 49548
