About the project

This complete roof system update in Wyoming, MI included a new roof, chimney removal, and the installation of two new valuable egress windows. The project focused on both replacing an aged roof and adding essential safety features to the home. Work began with expert disassembly of the existing brick chimney, ensuring the deck was properly sealed and waterproofed. The roof replacement involved a full tear-off of two existing layers and the installation of a new, complete system, including fresh ice and water shield, new flashing, and a vented ridge cap. Crucially, the project also included the installation of two new egress windows, significantly adding light, safety, and usable space to the basement.

Our Work in Action

  • Chimney Disassembly: We safely disassembled the existing brick chimney, waterproofed the structure, and installed temporary decking prior to the main roofing work.
  • Full Tear-Off & System Rebuild: A full tear-off of the double-layer shingles was completed, followed by the installation of all new underlayment, vented ridge cap, valley flashing, and drip edge.
  • Egress Window Installation: We installed two new egress windows to increase natural light and ensure code-compliant safety and access to the home's basement.
